Project Regtime

semi-rigid car suspension

Is a conceptually new and unconventional suspension solution, expected to be usefull especially for off-road vehicles and recreational vehicles .

The project is not completed, further research and verification work is still under way.

Description:

Semi-rigid suspension . Structural design is characterized by spatial axle beam, connecting the bottom head pins of the opposite reaction wheels.

Axle may preferably be formed in accordance with the spatial disposition of the propulsion unit .

The upper reaction pins can be located on the MacPherson units, cross arms and transverse leaf springs.

Axles can also be easily conceived  with adjustments to the change of ground distance.

Innovative aspects:

This suspension allows combining the properties of a solid axle and independent multi-link suspension , while achieving the necessary ground distance of the vehicle.

Main advantages:

  • the possibility of using larger strokes of spring loadings = axle suspension distance from the ground as  a determining parameter of a terrain vehicle is comparable to the portal axle or axle with trapezoidal gearing;
  • possibility of extremely large ground distance;
  • overall, low weight and low weight of the unsprung masses and space-saving character;
  • acceptable production cost;
  • achieved MetaCentre is higher than in McPherson suspension;
  • minimizes change in the wheel track and diversion in the springing action;
  • compared with the Hummer H1 axle with reducers in rounds , supposes a higher rate (speed) and resistance in the field.

Current Stage of Development:

  • end of the industrial protection, patents awarded;
  • we hold the original solution , the axle suppresses transverse waves of the car under extreme axle articulation.

Notes:

  • research continues;
  • private research.

Type of cooperation:

  • technical cooperation;
  • Joint Venture Agreement;
  • license Agreement.

A front steering axle with an original shaped axle beam, allowing greater ground distance of the vehicle. The axle (1) is sprung relative to the vehicle frame by spring units (2) and laterally guided by the arm (3). The wheels are connected with her by lower joints (4) and with the vehicle frame by upper bearing (5) spring units.

A variant of the same axle, but the upper joint (6) connected to the upper frame with a fork-arm (7), and with separate spring units (8).
